In Mail App Mac Links Not Opening To Browser
macOS Catalina 10.15 - Mail 13.4 - When I open Mail it takes almost a full minute for it to open. It's an IMAP account. Things I have tried > I turned the account off in Preferences, closed Mail, re-booted the computer, re-enable Mail. I emptied the Junk, Trash, Spam and Sent folders. I did Rebuilds of all mailboxes. I made sure there are no Bundles in the HD . Users > Library > Mail. After Mail is open it works fine. Just curious about the long delay in opening. I use the same IMAP account on another Mac desktop and a MacBook. The Mail app opens almost instantly on those other 2 machines.

  • I'm on Mountain Lion and in Apple Mail whenever I click a link in an email it opens my browser in front of Mail. I'd like to keep reading the email and open all links behind Mail, then switch to my browser and read the links later.
  • The question isn't about apps with a built-in browser, it's about using the app to open content from that app, instead of opening a browser and going to the app's website. In the example, the link is in Gmail, and the questioner wants to open the Pinterest content with the Pinterest app, not a web browser of any kind.
  • A value of false indicates that Thunderbird won't open links in external clients. Double-click the value to set it to true. Keep the editor open for now. The change takes effect immediately and you should be able to open links in the default browser from that moment in time on.
  • Links that the user opened with the “open link in new tab” action. For example, right-clicking the link and selecting “open link in new tab” or by pressing the CTRL key while left-clicking the link). Some experts are blaming the issue on Chrome extensions that scan the link before opening it, for example Ghostery and Norton Security Online.
